Playing in the CIF baseball finals in Fullerton. We lost 5-3 to Costa Mesa High School.
My roommate at Cal Poly my first year was the second baseman for Costa Mesa.

After Graduation

Worked 36 years as a teacher, coach, and athletic director for the Pomona Unified School District

Married to Pat Wiese, four children-David, Kelly, Christa, and Tracy. We have four grandchildren: ages 24, 15, 10, 6 months, and one “in the oven.”

Travels: We have been very fortunate to have traveled to France, Italy, Great Britain (twice) Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Greek Islands, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Mexico, Canada, and many Caribbean Islands. We have also traveled to most of the United States!

Our favorite two cities are Paris and Venice.

I guess the highlight since graduation is being married to my wife Pat and our two extended families. “Love is lovelier the second time around.”

Another highlight was teaching 36 years at Garey High School in Pomona. Some of the students who graduated went to Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Some even came back and taught at Garey High School. They were great role models for the students. Some went onto play professional baseball, football and basketball.

I was teacher of the year in 1976 and 1977.
