50 years of blessings and FUN!
Memories of San Marino High School
I have wonderful memories of High School. All my friends and teachers and generally just every day life in San Marino was great. Walking to school, when I missed the bus. Dressing each day in our uniform of gray skirts. Taking French for four years – could never speak a word!
PEP, what fun that was.
I remember most my two years as Song Girl, Junior and Senior. When I was chosen as Senior Princess my Senior year, that was sooo special. Most of all I remember my Senior year and our record "Valley High." Boni Cochrane and Lani Cochrane, Maureen Dougherty and myself had so much fun singing that record and recording it in Hollywood and I remember it being played the last day of school in the auditorium.
I feel that I was so blessed to go to such a great school and grow up in such a special neighborhood. All my memories of my friends and all the things we did over those four years will be with me forever.
We all were so lucky!
Life After Graduation
I went on to the University of Colorado for four years and graduated with a B.S. degree in Education. Jeanie Hansen and Vicky Taylor and I were together there in the snow and super fun times. Jeanie and I pledged Pi Beta Phi and lived in the Pi Phi House. CU was a wonderful place to go to school. The campus was so beautiful and life was good and loaded with good times.
After college I got a job teaching in La Canada, CA. I lived with Jeanie and we taught school until I married Rob Harbour in 1968. Rob and I moved to Corona del Mar and had two beautiful daughters, Tiffany and Tara in 1970 and 1971. We lived in Turtle Rock, Irvine, CA, till we divorced in 1974.
I was single for 14 years and my daughters and I lived in Irvine and I went into sales. Real Estate first, and then office products sales for 11 years. I became District Manager of Ricoh Corporation with four districts under my supervision. I was the only female manager nationwide in this Japanese Corporation but they took very good care of me and we prospered.
I married Don Larsen in 1987, We have been very happily married for 25 years. We’ve lived on Balboa Island since 1987 and also Indian Wells, CA, during the winter. Don and I together have five children (now adults) and 11 grandchildren. My grandchildren age from 19 to 9.
I retired in 1994 when we moved to Greenwich, Connecticut for four years. We kept our house in Balboa and Don finally retired from his work six years ago. Life is good and we are healthy thanks to God.
We travel every year and have been fortunate enough to see many wonderful places. Our kids are all doing well and we adore our grandchildren. My Lauren has just be accepted to NYU in the fall and we are so proud of her. I am very thankful for all God's blessings during these 50 years and pray that they will continue for a long time.
