Favorite High School Memorie
My high school memories are those of good and unforgettable times with friends, many of which friendships have lasted a lifetime and go as far back as Valentine and Huntington schools.
After Graduation
Following high school I received a BA in English. I worked as an executive secretary at Catalina, Inc., as well as for various temporary secretarial service agencies.
I have raised four children - Brandon, Blake, Jill and Blair, and now have two wonderful stepchildren, Miller and Brice. Together, Virgil and I have ten grandchildren.
I have participated in various volunteer activities related to the children's’ interests, as well as volunteer groups in the community. For much of my life I have had the privilege to be part of events honoring my father, Glenn Miller, and his legacy. A highlight was the purchase and restoration of his birthplace home in Clarinda, Iowa in 1989; the creation of the Glenn Miller Foundation, which is instrumental in building a museum adjacent to the home.
In 2000, I reconnected with my old college boyfriend and fellow classmate, Virgil Hoffman, and eventually we married. We feel very blessed to have each other with whom to share life.
I enjoy time with out children, grandchildren and friend as well as gardening, art music, our church, travel and beach activities.
