Hi. Here has what has happened to me since June, 1962.
I have had a relatively uneventful but still a rewarding life since I graduated. I went to Mt. SAC and earned an AA degree, then I spent my next years earning a BA in geography at CSU-Fullerton.
Although I never married nor had children of my own, I spent a total of 35 years as an elementary teacher educating children. I first taught 13 years as a 4th and 3rd grade teacher for the Centralia School District in Buena Park. In the summer of 1981 I got the opportunity to escape the city when the Mojave Unified School District hired me as a fourth grade teacher. I spent the next 22 years as a fourth and fifth grade teacher. In June of 2004 I retired from formally teaching, but I did not retire from life.
Teaching was very rewarding but I decided there were other things I wanted to do.
Today I am very involved with my photography selling photos on my ETSY web sight http://www.etsy.com/shop/naturesfocus. My other passion is animals. I have four horses in my backyard. I have always had a passion for horses which became a reality when I moved to Bear Valley Springs.
Although I retired from teaching in the school system, I did not retire from life of teaching so I do my own training of my horses using the Parelli natural horsemanship method. This satisfies my desire to teach which drives me to also volunteer for an exotic animal ranch called Windwept Ranch here in Tehachapi. It has the largest reindeer herd in California. They also have yak, camels, zebras, etc. It has made my life very fulfilling.
As a teacher I always tried to emulate those teachers I had while being taught at San Marino that helped my education.
