LIFE SINCE GRADUATION
Immediately after high school, spent two years majoring in surfing and other similar co-curricular activities at Orange Coast College which lead to a brief career in the Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman seeing the world and duty off the coast of Viet Nam.
Graduated from Chapman College In 1969 with a BA in Business/Economics and started a career in sales and management with national consumer product companies. Married shortly after, moved to Westlake Village and had two daughters. After several years we had fallen in love with the community and I looked for an opportunity that would not require travel or relocation. In 1975 I started a real estate career that quickly led to a position managing three large residential real estate offices.
In 1987 I divorced and moved to a management position in a commercial real estate firm representing large land developers and investors. Two years later I became the full custodian of my 13 year old daughter and spent four years immersed in parenting, booster boards and thoroughly enjoying in her high school experience. 24 years later I'm still involved at Westlake High School.
Shortly after my youngest daughter's graduation from high school I met Jeannette and we formed a very successful residential real estate team (www.ConejoHomes.com). Marriage two years later brought the addition of two great stepsons, followed by nine grandchildren scattered over the country from Austin, Texas to Bend, Oregon.
Today Jeannette still enjoys practicing real estate and I assist with marketing and negotiation. For the most part, however, I'm comfortably retired and spend most of my time pursuing a lifelong passion for photography (www.DigitalDaydreaming.com). Together we enjoy spending time with kids and grandkids, hiking with our dog in the Santa Monica Mountains, the arts and involvement in various local community charities such as Hospice of the Conejo and Community Conscience - Under One Roof.
