Favorite SMHS Memories
Loved going to Carver, Huntington Middle School and SMHS from first grade through grad night. Relish continued correspondence with lots of long-term friends. Recall many awesome summers at Balboa Island, Newport, Palm Springs and Hawaii. Lots of interesting times, campus hunting vacations with my parents. Special highlights: Trips to Mammoth with Ski Club - I was a bunny slope lover; and rooting for SMHS football team.
Since Grad Night
University of Colorado at Boulder brough about frozen noses, ski trips to Aspen and Vail, water rafting and fun, noisy parties as a Pi Beta Phi. Met and traveled with coeds from various states. Special highlight: trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Surprisingly enough, I won an award for “most improved grade average!”
The following years brought raising my two sons, Michael and Steven Stroud, as well as seven cuddly cats. Attended USC for Masters Degree and enjoyed working in San Marino as a Valentine School teacher, and in public relations at the San Marino Tennis Foundation. Learned to participate as a soccer, LIttle League, basketball and football mom.
Right now, I live in South Pasadena. Special highlight: Visiting Amherst, Massachusetts to meet Zachary Stroud, my grandson. Mike and his wife, Rena, are thrilled.
My 60 years in San Marino were fabulous and I have much to be grateful for.
