San Marino HIgh School was very special.
Since SMHS
I received a BA in Psychology from University of San Diego in 1966, BA in Elementary Education from Methodist College, Fayetteville, NC in 1969 and BS in Accounting from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY in 1981. I STILL don’t know what I want to be when I grow up!
I married Fred Laroque, CPT, US Army on August 26, 1967. We have two children, Paul, 40 and Jane, 34. We also have two granddaughters, Surya, Paul’s little girl, and Helena, Jane’s baby.
Fred spent 26 years in the Army during which we moved LOTS of times and lived in some 22 different homes. We also lived overseas in Thailand and South Korea for several yeas. During that time, I had many volunteer experiences and also taught 4th grade shortly; but, really enjoyed accounting and was able to work intermittently in that field. Fred retired in 1987 and we moved to Bend, Oregon, where we lived for 13 years and sold real estate. Also in 1987, I was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and given a few months to live.
That was 26 years ago!
In 2002, we moved to Bigfork, Montana. The nearest ‘big’ city is Kalispell, where Fred grew up. I am not fond of our long winders but Fred is taking advantage of winter by skiing frequently. My ‘hobby’ is international travel, so I get away during the winter when Fred is busy with his skiing. I have visited 42 countries.
Only 187 to go!
Our mutual ‘hobby’ is taking road trips in our camper. We’ve driven all over the US, Canada, and Mexico.
AND I hope you will come visit us sometime. We are only 40 miles from Glacier National Park with some of the best hiking in the whole US—at least that’s my opinion!! We are about a mile from Flathead Lake, Montana. July and August are the best months here. However, you can come anytime, the park is closed in the winter, but the ski areas are open!
I am serious about this—come visit!!
